Places where visitors can take their dogs
Obviously when a family go on holiday, they like to give their pets one to. This is why we thought it would be a god idea to have a pet column. Yes, I know it sounds unusual but its perfectly true.
Visitors can take their dogs along the beaches as long as there isnt a sign saying not to do so. Families and their pets are very welcome on Arran as long as their pets dont become a problem. Some sites on Arran encourage you take your dog but others will not, such as places where October Shooting season is likely to take place. Watch out for these, make sure where they are going to look up Arrans Information Booklet or contact Arran Tourist Information.
If you are a family who would like to experience Arrans Highest Mountain, then get your walking boots on and a packed lunch ready because your going to need it. This great mountain which half the population on Arran have experienced has the name of Goatfell. The average time to complete Goatfell would be around 4 hours. To tell you the truth when I first came to Arran about 4 and a half years ago, my dog absolutely loved the walk. Its quite a hard trek but its worth it in the end. You honestly wouldnt believe how amazing the scenery from the top of that mountain is, its breath taking.
Arran is a great place for children. I assure you when you leave after spending a few days here, or so fourth, you could also have had may experiences.
There are other nice places to go walking, including Whiting Bay, Glen Ashdale Falls, which has a huge waterfall that id the main attraction. Also while you are walking in that direction you could also investigate the Giant Graves. This is a poem about Whiting Bay.
The Bay of golden waters in the morning sun,
This Bay of moonlit sliver when the day is done,
This Bay, where floating clouds, like snowy fleece,
Blanket this kindly hearth, our bed of peace.
